Caméras d'inspection : avec ou sans écran ?
Caméra d'inspection, caméra endoscopique, vidéoscope, endoscope… Les appellations peuvent varier, mais on parle de la même chose. Le dernier terme est peut-être le plus courant dans les ateliers. Mais on le retrouve aussi dans d'autres secteurs d'activité.
"Historiquement, il y a des endoscopes multi-activités extrêmement technologiques et qui coûtent très chers, entre 10 000 et 15 000 euros. C'est complètement disproportionné par rapport aux besoins du secteur automobile, analyse Philippe Ouin, chef de produits chez Berner. Ceux que nous proposons pour les garages sont peut-être de qualité inférieure en termes d'image, mais suffisent largement aux besoins de nos clients."
Dans les ateliers, l'endoscope permet principalement de visualiser des zones difficiles d'accès. Inspection du moteur, du système de climatisation ou d'échappement, orifice d'injection diesel, serrure du coffre, intérieur de la porte… Les cas d'applications sont nombreux.
"La tendance va vers un produit plus complet"
Ces outils bien pratiques se distinguent en deux catégories : ceux avec écran ou sans. Avec des stratégies différentes selon les outilleurs. Depuis une dizaine d'années, Berner propose son vidéoscope avec écran, qui représente les deux tiers de ses ventes liées. Chez Sonic France, la tendance est plus récente, avec une sortie en 2024.
"La tendance va vers un produit plus complet, avec une carte SD qui permet de tout mémoriser directement sur l'appareil. L'écran est de plus en plus fréquent car sans lui, il faut relier l'endoscope au téléphone pour visualiser les images. De plus, vous êtes sujet à la qualité de la connexion Bluetooth, et cela vous oblige à avoir deux appareils en main… C'est moins pratique à l'utilisation", développe Charles Mangin, directeur de Sonic France.
Il faut aussi disposer du smartphone ou de la tablette en atelier pour pouvoir s'en servir. Chez Berner, le dernier endoscope commercialisé (il y a quatre ans) n'était pourtant pas doté d'écran. Ce que défend Philippe Ouin : "Le garagiste peut utiliser un support magnétique pour poser l'outil sur le capot du véhicule, et avoir les mains libres pour travailler. C'est également intéressant de pouvoir partager les images avec plusieurs personnes en même temps autour du véhicule."
Les caméras d'inspection sans écran intégré peuvent être reliées à un smartphone pour visualiser les images captées dans les espaces difficiles d'accès.
Des outils fiables
En termes de durée de vie, ces outils sont généralement d'une grande fiabilité. Les retours sont extrêmement rares, voire inexistants. "Les embouts sont très sollicités et peuvent nécessiter un renouvellement, complète Charles Mangin. La batterie peut être un autre facteur de dysfonctionnement selon la façon dont elle est rechargée. Nous insistons, par exemple, sur le fait de ne pas recharger l'endoscope via un PC, car la puissance n'est pas assez suffisante."
Au fil des ans, le marché de l'endoscope s'avère stable, sans grand bouleversement quand une nouveauté se présente. Les ateliers sont dans l'ensemble bien équipés. "Les garagistes sont assez friands de cet outil. Nous réussissons à bien le faire stocker à nos distributeurs, c'est un signe que cela tourne bien", commente Charles Mangin.
Hormis des améliorations de la qualité des photos et vidéos, ces outils ne devraient pas connaître de grandes évolutions dans les années à venir. Avec des autonomies moyennes de plus de cinq heures, ils peuvent déjà tenir aisément une journée de travail. Le diamètre des sondes peut être encore réduit pour pouvoir se faufiler dans des espaces plus difficiles à inspecter. "Nous nous sommes posé la question d'un troisième modèle dans notre gamme d'endoscopes, mais le jeu n'en vaut pas la chandelle pour l'instant", conclut Philippe Ouin.
Sonic : une qualité d'image optimale
En 2024, Sonic Equipment a fait le choix de dévoiler son premier endoscope avec écran intégré. La caméra est dotée d'une haute résolution (1920 × 1080 pixels, 30 images par seconde), avec un objectif de 5,5 mm. L'outilleur promet ainsi des images claires et précises permettant de détecter les plus petits problèmes. La sonde est longue (2 mètres de longueur), fine (5,5 mm d'épaisseur) et flexible pour se faufiler dans des espaces restreints et difficiles d'accès sans endommager les composants du véhicule. Elle dispose d'un capteur de 1,0 megapixels CMOS, retranscrit sur l'écran de 2,8”.
Ce dernier est intégré à l'endoscope pour ne pas avoir besoin d'un appareil supplémentaire. Une carte mémoire SD de 32 Go est incluse pour enregistrer directement les photos et vidéos, avec possibilité ensuite de les décharger, sur un ordinateur par exemple. La caméra bénéficie d'un éclairage LED, à l'intensité réglable selon les zones inspectées, avec six embouts différents. L'autonomie de l'endoscope est de cinq à six heures grâce à sa batterie Li 2000 mAh. Enfin, l'équipement de Sonic se veut résistant à l'eau, à la poussière et aux produits chimiques. Il est fourni avec un miroir, un crochet et un aimant.
Berner : le choix de la praticité
Après avoir proposé pendant des années un vidéoscope avec écran, Berner opte désormais pour une version qui en est dépourvue. Son vidéoscope double caméra offre une vision frontale et latérale. Il se connecte en wifi à un smartphone ou une tablette via une application dédiée gratuite.
C'est donc via cet appareil (jusqu'à cinq en simultané) que l'image est retransmise, et que les différents réglages (changement de vision ou de luminosité) sont effectués. L'autonomie annoncée de la batterie est d'environ deux heures (rechargement par câble micro USB fourni).
Les images, photos et vidéos peuvent être enregistrées en HD sur le smartphone ou la tablette. La technologie de cet endoscope ne diffère pas de la précédente version (avec écran) de Berner, que ce soit pour la caméra ou les câbles. La sonde est longue de 1,05 mètre et a un diamètre particulièrement réduit de 4,9 mm. Elle est en métal et résiste ainsi aux huiles, aux carburants, à l'eau ou encore aux rayures (IP67). Le boîtier électronique est quant à lui magnétisé pour être fixé et permettre à l'opérateur d'avoir les mains libres.
Clas : des inspections efficaces et précises
Le vidéoscope enregistreur double caméra de Clas (référence AC 5039) dispose d'une sonde métal semi-rigide IP67 d'un mètre de longueur et 5,5 mm de diamètre. La tête de la caméra est équipée de deux caméras (frontale et latérale) et d'une source lumineuse six LED, avec six intensités réglables (0-800 lux). La résolution d'image est de 640 × 480 pixels, retransmise sur l'écran TFT couleur de 2,55 pouces, directement intégré au vidéoscope.
Parmi les caractéristiques, on recensera une mise au point de 30 à 80 mm, un angle de vision de 60°, un zoom jusqu'à × 6.68, ou encore une fonction symétrie verticale (inversion d'image). Un port USB 2.0 permet de transférer les images vers un PC. Une carte mémoire micro SD de 8 Go est fournie, et l'appareil est compatible avec une carte SD jusqu'à 32 Go. Cet endoscope fonctionne avec 4 piles AA pour une autonomie de trois à quatre heures. Clas propose une garantie de deux ans.
